A Cold Nearby Cloud inside the Local Bubble
The high-latitude Galactic H I cloud toward the extragalactic radiosource 3C 225 is characterized by very narrow 21 cm emission andabsorption indicative of a very low H I spin temperature of about 20 K.Through high-resolution optical spectroscopy, we report the detection ofstrong, very narrow Na I absorption corresponding to this cloud toward anumber of nearby stars. Assuming that the turbulent H I and Na I motionsare similar, we derive a cloud temperature of20+6-8 K (in complete agreement with the 21 cmresults) and a line-of-sight turbulent velocity of 0.37+/-0.08 kms-1 from a comparison of the H I and Na I absorption linewidths. We also place a firm upper limit of 45 pc on the distance of thecloud, which situates it well inside the Local Bubble in this directionand makes it the nearest known cold diffuse cloud discovered to date.

Radial velocities. Measurements of 2800 B2-F5 stars for HIPPARCOS
Radial velocities have been determined for a sample of 2930 B2-F5 stars,95% observed by the Hipparcos satellite in the north hemisphere and 80%without reliable radial velocity up to now. Observations were obtainedat the Observatoire de Haute Provence with a dispersion of 80Ä,mm(-1) with the aim of studying stellar and galactic dynamics.Radial velocities have been measured by correlation with templates ofthe same spectral class. The mean obtained precision is 3.0 km s(-1)with three observations. A new MK spectral classification is estimatedfor all stars. Based on observations made at the Haute ProvenceObservatory, France and on data from The Hipparcos Catalogue, ESA.Tables 4, 5 and 6 are only available in electronic form at the CDS viaanonymous ftp to cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.htm

UvbyHbeta_ photometry of main sequence A type stars.
We present Stroemgren uvby and Hbeta_ photometry for a set of575 northern main sequence A type stars, most of them belonging to theHipparcos Input Catalogue, with V from 5mag to 10mag and with knownradial velocities. These observations enlarge the catalogue we began tocompile some years ago to more than 1500 stars. Our catalogue includeskinematic and astrophysical data for each star. Our future goal is toperform an accurate analysis of the kinematical behaviour of these starsin the solar neighbourhood.

Fourth preliminary catalogue of stars, right ascension observed with photoelectric transit instrument (PPCP4).

The EXOSAT high Galactic latitude survey
This study presents a survey of serendipitous sources performed in thevery soft X-ray band (0.05-2.0 keV) using the Exosat imaging telescopes. It covers 783 sq deg of high Galactic latitude sky and includes 210serendipitous sources which define a complete (flux-limited) sample. Twohundred of the 210 detected sources are identified via extensive opticaland radio observations together with cross-correlations with catalogs ofknown objects. The log N-log S relation was found to be consistent withthat of the Einstein extended Medium-Sensitivity Survey (EMSS) and withthe 'Euclidean' value of 1.5. The normalization of the relation is astrong function of the assumed spectral slope of AGN. It is inferredfrom the consistency with the EMSS results that the average (energy)slope of extragalactic sources in the soft X-ray band is very steep(approximately 1.5). An analysis of the association between AGNdetection and Galactic N(H) also shows that the average slope is steepand inconsistent with the canonical value of 0.7.

Hyades and Sirius supercluster members brighter than magnitude (V) 7.1. II - Right ascension six to twelve hours
The present star sample is contained in the Bright Star Catalogue andits Supplement, augmented with a further supplement of 788 stars foundduring various observing programs over the past 40 years. Accurate,four-color and H-beta, or (RI), photometry is available for most of thesupercluster members. The criteria for membership are the comparisons ofthe proper motion, radial velocity, and luminosity obtained from thesupercluster parameters with the observed motions and the luminosityderived from the photometric parameters. New proper motions, based onall available catalogs, have been derived for the additional 788 starsdiscussed here, as well as all supercluster members.

Visual multiples. VIII - 1000 MK types
A total of 1000 new classifications are given for stars brighter than B= 8.0 mag in the Aitken double star catalog. The classificationssupplement 865 classifications obtained in 1981 and 1984. Among thenewly discovered stars are 12 new Ap stars, eight Lambda Bootis stars, one Ba II star, and 60 Am stars. A detailed list of the newclassifications is given.

New optical positions and proper motions of late type stars associated with SiO masers
The 33 cm astrograph of the Bordeaux Observatory has been used to derivewith respect to AGK3 reference stars, accurate positions of late typevariable stars variable stars associated with strong SiO maser emission. It is suggested that selected maser stars can be used to link theHIPPARCOS system and the VLBI extragalactic reference frame. The propermotions of the program (SiO) and reference stars are derived and, forthe program stars, are compared to the McCormick catalog of propermotions.
