Observations of Binary Stars with the Differential Speckle Survey Instrument. II. Hipparcos Stars Observed in 2010 January and June The results of 497 speckle observations of Hipparcos stars and selectedother targets are presented. Of these, 367 were resolved into componentsand 130 were unresolved. The data were obtained using the DifferentialSpeckle Survey Instrument at the WIYN 3.5 m Telescope. (The WIYNObservatory is a joint facility of the University of Wisconsin-Madison,Indiana University, Yale University, and the National Optical AstronomyObservatories.) Since the first paper in this series, the instrument hasbeen upgraded so that it now uses two electron-multiplying CCD cameras.The measurement precision obtained when comparing to ephemeris positionsof binaries with very well known orbits is approximately 1-2 mas inseparation and better than 0fdg6 in position angle. Differentialphotometry is found to be in very good agreement with Hipparcos measuresin cases where the comparison is most relevant. We derive preliminaryorbits for two systems.
| Charge-Coupled Device Speckle Observations of Binary Stars with the WIYN Telescope. V. Measures during 2001-2006 A total of 1067 speckle observations of 345 binary stars are presented.Of these, 161 are double stars first resolved by Hipparcos, 17 areresolved for the first time in the observations presented here, and 21are stars previously discovered by our program and reported in earlierpapers in the series. In 947 cases, a magnitude difference is reportedalong with the relative astrometry. When comparing to systems with verywell-known orbits, we find that the root mean square (rms) deviation inseparation residuals is 2.81 ± 0.28 mas, and the rms deviation inposition angle residuals is 0.88 ± 0.07°. The magnitudedifference measures show no significant deviation from Hipparcosphotometry, and have average standard deviation of approximately 0.10mag as judged from repeat observations. Five important systemsdiscovered by Hipparcos are discussed.The WIYN Observatory is a joint facility of the University ofWisconsin-Madison, Indiana University, Yale University, and the NationalOptical Astronomy Observatories.
| Binary-star measurements carried out at PIC DU Midi and at Nice Data on 219 measurements of 103 close binaries observed with the 2mtelescope at Pic du Midi are presented. Also presented are data on 230measurements of 126 binaries observed with the 74 cm refractor of theNice Observatory.
| Mean positions and proper motions of 305 stars obtained from the combination of PZT observations at Ondrejov with AGK positions Observations of 305 stars carried out at the Ondrejov Observatory in theperiod 1973-1983 were compared to the positions of the same stars in theAGK 2 and AGK 3 catalogs in order to obtain their mean positions andproper motions. The observations were performed in the course of 1140nights using the PZT telescope and comprise more than 32 thousand startransits. The average mean errors in the right ascension and declinationof a star that was observed thoughout the whole period were + or -0.0019 s and + or - 0.019 arcsec in the epoch around 1979. It ispredicted that the errors will increase + or - 0.0055 sec and + or -0.059 arcsec in the year 2000. A table listing the errors in the rightascension and declination is provided.
| New binary stars (19th series) discovered at Nice A total of 209 measurements of 100 visual binaries discovered inobservations with the 50-cm refractor at the Observatoire de Nicebetween April 1983 and October 1984 are presented in a table. The formatis the same as that used in the Lick Observatory index catalog (Jeffersand van den Bos, 1963), and the present list brings the total number ofbinaries discovered at Nice to 2250, from observations of 109,004 stars.
